Perth take second game of Valley Final
The Renfrew Timberwolves were hosting the Perth Blue Wings in the second game of the Best of Seven series
The Blue Wings opened the scoring at 19:33 of the 1st period, when Riley Kane scored assisted by Eric Hebert and Brett Lewandowsky. The Wolves took 1 of the 5 penalties and out shot the Wings 12 to 9. The Blue Wings took a 1 to 0 lead into the dressing room.
In the 2nd period the Wings increased their lead when on a power play Gio Falsetti scored with assists going to Brett Lewandowsky and Riley Kane at 15:30. Then added another one at 16:30 when short handed Zach MacMillan scored unassisted. The Wolves got on the score sheet when Matt Rosebrook back handed a shot past the Wings goalie at 17:43. The Wings struck again just before the period ended at 19:10 when Ben Minkus scored with assists going to Shawn McGillivray and Adam Emmerton. Each team took 2 of the 4 penalties handed out. The Wings out shot the Wolves 14 to 10 and took a 3 to 1 lead going into the intermission at the end of the 2nd period.
The third period the Wings added another power play goal at 6:14 when Blair Barr scored with assists going to Anthony McVeigh and Adam Emmerton. The Wolves took 4 of the 6 penalties and were out shot 18 to 8 in the period and 41 to 30 in the game. The Wings took game two 5 to 1 and a 2 game lead in the series.
The Wolves are in Perth on Wednesday, March 10th and then return home for game 4 of the Series. The home game for the Wolves will be Friday, March 12th for an 8:00 p.m. start.
